Job Description
The Family Practitioner Physician works as a part of the medical team. They are responsible for initiating resuscitation and stabilization of patients as well as commencing investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat illnesses, whilst working as a multi-disciplined team.
- Carry out immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients that are brought in for treatmentas needed.
- Establish a Primary Care Clinic per CMO guidance and provide routine care for chronic health conditions.
- Prescribe and administer medication, treatment, and therapy.
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Perform medical examinations to establish a health status baseline.
- Examine and diagnose patients for illness and injury.
- Formulate a treatment plan to manage presenting conditions.
- Administer medication intravenously, orally, intramuscularly, or topically.
- Order, perform, interpret test results, and analyze records and reports.
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed.
- Evaluate, perform minor procedures, and manage primary care patients.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient health information.
- Ensures that all medical records are accurately maintained.
- Refer patients to medical specialists when required.
- Coordinate healthcare plan with nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers.
- Provision of clinical reporting into International SOS Facility Medical Director
- Support clinical mentoring for staff development.
- Ensure best practices are in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs.
- Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Facility Medical Director
- Provide liaison with external agencies where required to promote a chain of care continuity and professional referral/patient handover
Qualifications
- A valid United States passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Qatar.
- US DOS clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
- Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
Education Required:
- Doctoral Degree in Medicine
- MD/DO Board eligible or certifiedin United States
- BCLS, ACLS, & PALS Certification
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience and licensed to practice in any USState or territory
- Experience with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients in an emergency or urgent care environment.
- The ability to make quick medical treatment care plans.
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed.
- Laceration repairs, wound care, venipuncture, abscess I &D, cast and splint application, etc
- Ability to assess and accurately diagnose obstetrics and gynecological patients.
- Empathetic and personable medical care
- Accurate, detailed patient charting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems.

Compensation | Min: $230,000 Max: $300,000
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
