Description

Head of Rheumatology

Part time (0.4 FTE) plus potential additional clinical work (depending on locality and availability)

Permanent

Up to £62,000

About the role

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an allied health professional, clinical nurse specialist or doctor to join the senior clinical leadership team with Connect Health. You will be working with a diverse group of experienced clinical and operational leaders. You will provide leadership within the Clinical Delivery directorate and be supported to enhance, utilise and apply your skills and experience within Rheumatology across clinical practice, research and education.

A strategic thinker and influential leader, this role will allow you to shape and contribute towards our clinical vision and strategy for Rheumatology within Connect Health bot now, and in the long term.

We encourage applications from those professionals that sit across the Rheumatology pathway (AHP, CNS, GPwER, Consultant Rheumatologist). Travel across the country is an expected part of the role and expenses are provided to enable this.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a well-organised, experienced Rheumatology clinician with proven leadership experience who buys in to our philosophy and wants to shape and deliver quality clinical care for patients with rheumatological conditions. You will have a clear understanding of evidence-informed, contemporary high-value care with a track record of high-impact innovation.

You’ll be positive, constructive, and a compassionate leader that champions and embraces diverse perspectives. With a strong desire for continuous improvement in both yourself and Rheumatology service delivery, you will approach challenges, projects and responsibility with resilience and positivity. You will have excellent and confident communication skills with patients, colleagues and key stakeholders.

You may have experience of working within the NHS, Public or Private Sector, bringing transferrable skills to Connect, however, the ability to be a strong and influential advocate regarding the role of the independent sector is crucial.

The majority of clinical delivery and leadership structure are digitally enabled so you will have good IT skills and be willing to embrace innovation and technological advances that improve service delivery. Aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan, a clear understanding of the value of digitally enabled care and championing this internally and externally is essential.
