Description
Position Summary: Vandalia Health/Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) and the Institute for Academic Medicine seeks an accomplished and forward-thinking Rheumatologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) to become our founding Division Chief of Rheumatology and join our thriving Academic Health Center in Charleston, WV. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator with a passion for transforming health care delivery in a clinically evolving environment through innovation, technology, and systems-based thinking.
This role provides outstanding opportunities for leadership, career development, academic advancement, and mentoring the next generation. The Division Chief is responsible for maintaining high standards of in-patient and ambulatory clinical care, supervising faculty, and overseeing the management of the service line. The Chief will partner with the Department Chair to develop a comprehensive strategy for the division’s growth and development and foster a culture that supports faculty promotion through research, service and scholarly activity.
Requirements:
- Must have an MD, DO or foreign equivalent and obtain a state medical license
- Board certified /eligible
- Demonstrated leadership in academic and clinical settings

Vandalia Health Charleston Area Medical Center is a nonprofit, 1,138-bed regional referral center comprising seven hospitals across southern West Virginia as well as the Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation. More than 1,500 providers serve on the medical staff.
